Edward Lastra is the Technical Designer at KDI's Los Angeles office. A native Angeleno, he is enthusiastic about solving design problems through artistic ingenuity and technical aptitude. Edward excels at communicating and coordinating with different fabrication specialists including carpenters, welders, sculptors and other design disciplines. This often involves coordinating across multiple design fields such as architecture, graphic design, urban planning and structural engineering. Prior to joining KDI, Edward was the Director of Technical Design for a fabrication shop in Los Angeles, where he managed graphical, technical & conceptual design elements. His projects experience prior to KDI often involved theme based and museum exhibit fabrication. His work can be seen at places such as the California Academy of Sciences, The Los Angeles Natural History Museum, The Smithsonian American History Museum as well as theme parks like Disneyland & Universal Studios. Edward holds a Master of Architecture degree from the Southern California Institute of Architecture.
